SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — West Valley City police say they’ll conduct a search near Ely, Nev., for a Utah mother missing since 2009.

Police Sgt. Mike Powell says the department has new information about the disappearance of Susan Cox Powell. A search is planned for Friday.

Susan Cox Powell was last seen Dec. 6, 2009, and was reported missing the next day.

Her husband, Josh Powell, said he last saw the 28-year-old when he left to go camping in Utah’s west desert with the couple’s boys, aged 2 and 4.

Police have called Josh Powell a person of interest in the case, but he’s never been arrested or charged.

A Facebook site for Susan Cox Powell says her family plans to distribute flyers about the case in Washington state and Utah on Saturday.
