Small plane hits power lines, knocks out power

JEFFERTON, Ore. (AP) -- A fire district spokeswoman says a small plane hit power lines and crashed into a field in Jefferson, Ore., cutting power to Willamette Valley town of about 2,400 for a half hour. The two people aboard the plane suffered minor injuries.

Jefferson Fire District spokeswoman Tammy Robbins says the passenger reported that the plane had just left the Albany airport Thursday night.

Robbins says the Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
