Parks aquatics’ safety rated excellent

The aquatics department at Vancouver-Clark Parks & Recreation has received an “exceeds industry standards” rating during an audit by Ellis & Associates, an international aquatic risk-management firm for hundreds of aquatics facilities worldwide, it said in a news bulletin Thursday.

Vancouver-Clark Parks & Recreation aquatic facilities are randomly audited four to five times per year. This rating recognizes the department’s commitment to safety at the Firstenburg and Marshall community center pools. It is the organization’s fourth consecutive rating of “exceeds.”

“It is a tremendous honor for Vancouver-Clark Parks & Recreation to receive this rating,” Aquatics Coordinator Cory Wynn said. “This award speaks to the dedication of our lifeguards and staff to run our pools in the safest way possible.”
