PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The Portland Timbers have traded midfielder/defender Jeremy Hall to FC Dallas in exchange for midfielder Eric Alexander.

Alexander, a third-round selection out of Indiana in last year’s MLS draft, has spent two seasons with FC Dallas, playing in 39 matches with 28 starts. He had two goals and three assists his rookie season.

Hall started 17 matches for the Timbers this season, with three assists. He was originally acquired in a trade with the New York Red Bulls last November.
