Downtown fist fight brings crowd

Vancouver police officers responded to a report of a brawl earlier tonight and arrested two men.

Details were sketchy, but Sgt. Kathy McNicholas said a crowd gathered around the fight near Seventh and Main streets but dispersed by the time officers arrived about 8:10 p.m. Sunday.

A least one caller told emergency dispatchers that there were many people on one person. But McNicholas said it was simply a fist fight.

McNicholas said two men in the 20s were arrested for provoking assault but that the damage was mostly one bloody lip.

At least six police cars responded to the call, McNicholas said.
