JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed tight end Joey Haynos, giving them extra depth following Zach Miller’s injury.

The Jaguars waived rookie offensive lineman Rob McGill to make room for Haynos, who spent the last three seasons in Miami. Haynos, a 6-foot-8, 270-pound Maryland graduate who originally signed with Green Bay in 2008, has 21 receptions for 184 yards and three touchdowns. He missed all of last year after sustaining a foot injury in the preseason.

Haynos will compete with Zach Potter, Tommy Gallarda and Kyle Miller for the team’s third-string tight end spot. Pro Bowl tight end Marcedes Lewis is the starter, and Zach Miller is the backup. Miller sprained his right knee in training camp, sat out Friday’s game against Atlanta, and will miss the final two preseason games.
