ALBANY, Ore. (AP) — City officials in Albany, Ore., say they’re changing the staging and taking other precautions for Saturday’s big concert, in light of a fatal stage collapse in Indiana earlier this month.

The Democrat-Herald reports (http://bit.ly/oRiAEX ) crews preparing the amphitheater at the ATI Wah Chang Northwest Art & Air Festival will erect a new roof and improved rigging on the main stage. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts are performing Saturday night at the Oregon Amphitheater.

On Aug. 13, a 60 to 70 mph wind gust caused the stage rigging at the Indiana State Fair to collapse into a crowd as it was waiting for country duo Sugarland to perform, killing six people and injuring dozens..
