VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — A Beaverton, Ore., man accused of drunken driving was arrested after a Sunday night crash on Interstate 5 at Vancouver that killed a 3-month-old boy.
The Columbian reports (http://bit.ly/qe9yDa) 26-year-old Christopher A. Roman made his first appearance Monday in Clark County Superior Court and was ordered held on $200,000 bail for investigation of vehicular homicide. He’ll be arraigned Sept. 2.
Deputy Prosecutor Mike Dodds said Roman was intoxicated and driving at a high speed when he lost control and hit a car that had stopped with a flat tire.
The Washington State Patrol says the crash killed the infant in a car seat. Two adults were injured and taken to Southwest Washington Medical Center.
