STORRS, Conn. (AP) — The University of Connecticut’s newly appointed interim athletic director says his priorities include fostering relationships with boosters and ensuring compliance with NCAA rules.

Paul Pendergast addressed the media Monday for the first time since he was picked to replace Jeff Hathaway.

He said during an appearance with UConn President Susan Herbst at The Burton Football Complex that he is also considering new initiatives including a ticketing price system that scales prices according to the demand for a game.

Pendergast was named Sunday as the replacement for Hathaway, who left his job on Friday. UConn had many athletic successes under Hathaway but also had compliance issues and a rocky relationship with some donors.
