MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — Police are searching for a University of Idaho professor suspected in the shooting death of a 22-year-old woman at a home near the Moscow campus.

Moscow Police Lt. Dave Lehmitz says an arrest warrant had been issued for Ernesto A. Bustamante, who is identified as an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology and Communications at the University of Idaho on the school’s website.

Police say officers responded to the Moscow home at about 8:40 p.m. on Monday and found the female victim, who has not been identified. Police were looking for a car seen leaving the scene, a black 2010 Chrysler Sebring with Washington license ABW3726.

As part of the ongoing investigation Tuesday, officers were attempting to serve a search warrant at the University Inn Best Western in Moscow.
