DAYTON, Wash. (AP) — Law enforcement officers say more than 25,000 marijuana plants have been removed from an area of southeast Washington near Dayton.
A multi-agency team including the Columbia County sheriff’s office, the U.S. Forest Service and the Washington State Patrol’s marijuana eradication team removed the plants from the Eckler Mountain area of Columbia County. Columbia County Narcotics Deputy Jeff Jenkins says that using state standards for calculation, the plants have a combined street value of more than $25 million.
The Tri-City Herald says (http://bit.ly/nWBzBK) that a Monday news release details the bust that took place last Thursday. The seizure follows a grow bust of 2,300 marijuana plants worth about $2.3 million last Wednesday.
Several people have been arrested.
