Chiefs’ Breaston getting along fine in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Wide receiver Steve Breaston had his right calf wrapped up and spent Tuesday morning’s practice with the rest of the injured Chiefs.

Breaston was signed by Kansas City at the beginning of camp to bolster a relatively weak receiving corps. His value has only grown after first-round draft pick Jonathan Baldwin hurt his hand, reportedly in a locker room altercation with running back Thomas Jones last week.

Breaston’s injury did not appear to be serious, though it’s unclear whether he’ll play Friday night against the St. Louis Rams. He has only one catch in the first two preseason games.

Breaston and Baldwin were joined on the sideline by cornerback Brandon Flowers. Offensive tackle Jared Gaither also walked off about midway through practice.
