COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio State assistant Dick Tressel says he believes his younger brother, deposed Buckeyes coach Jim Tressel, will someday coach again.

Dick Tressel, who still coaches Ohio State’s running backs and special teams under interim coach Luke Fickell, also says the NCAA problems which have dogged the program and led to his brother’s ouster were “hard on everybody.”

After 10 years as Ohio State’s coach, Jim Tressel was forced to resign on May 30 while admitting he learned in April 2010 that some of his players had accepted cash and free tattoos from a Columbus tattoo-parlor owner. He knew about the potential NCAA violations but said nothing until he was confronted by investigators in January of 2011.

Dick Tressel deflected a question about what he knew about the violations.
