C-Tran’s Citizen Advisory Committee has canceled its regular August meeting, the transit agency announced Tuesday. The committee typically meets on the last Thursday of every month.

For its September meeting, the group will host the last in a series of public meetings on Proposition 1, C-Tran’s sales tax proposal on the ballot this November. The measure would raise the local sales tax by 0.2 percentage points to maintain existing bus service. C-Tran officials have said the agency would have to cut bus service by 35 percent should the measure fail.

C-Tran plans several public meetings on the measure, beginning next week and continuing through September.

The first meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Aug. 30 in La Center City Hall, 214 East Fourth Street.

The meeting hosted by the C-Tran Citizen Advisory Committee will happen Sept. 29 in Vancouver.
