The city of Vancouver’s Urban Forestry program will host an educational walk through the Street Tree Arboretum and Clark College grounds Thursday evening. Participants will learn to identify trees by their leaves and other characteristics.

The walk begins at 6 p.m. Thursday and last until 8 p.m. Attendees will meet at the Marshall Community Center, 1009 McLoughlin Blvd. in Vancouver, by the huge bigleaf maple near the playground — “you can’t miss the tree,” according to the city.

The workshop is part of TreeTalk, a series of educational workshops presented by Urban Forestry. Space in Thursday’s event is limited. People can register in advance by contacting the city at 360-487-8308 or urbanforestry@ci.vancouver.wa.us.
