MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Jim Thome has heard the waiver rumors just like everyone else over the past few days. And just like everyone else, the Minnesota Twins slugger is waiting to hear where he will finish his season, and possibly, his career.

Thome told reporters after the Twins lost to the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday that he has not heard any news about his immediate future. Several reports say the Cleveland Indians have been awarded a waiver claim and are working with the Twins on a deal that would bring Thome back to where his career started.

Both teams declined to comment.

Twins outfielder Jason Kubel’s name has also come up in waiver talks. He says the rumors have weighed on him and he’s looking forward to getting a definite answer.
