A 3-year-old boy was badly hurt Sunday night when a driver crashed his car at 7:45 p.m. into the garage of a house at 1915 N.E. 150th St. and then fled on foot.
Police arrested a suspect at 7:56 p.m., eight blocks away.
The boy had been playing in the garage.
“The child underwent a significant amount of blunt force trauma,” said Clark County sheriff’s Sgt. Alex Schoening. He said the boy had a laceration to the back of his head, was hit by flying objects in the garage and also was thrown a distance.
Schoening said Rajneel Singh, 26, of Salmon Creek was the driver who was southbound on 20th Avenue when he failed to make a westbound turn onto Northeast 150th Street and crashed into the garage. He was driving a 2007 Scion PC hatchback.
About eight deputies responded and apprehended Singh in the 15600 block of Union Road, Schoening said.
