Letter: Government reduced? No, not really

The Columbian

I was so excited for the people of Vancouver when I read on Thursday morning the blaring headline “End of an Era at City Hall.” My thoughts turned to freedom of the people to have direct control of their government. Gone are the personal slams and hierarchies set up by some leaders in the quest to make decisions based on their needs. Drowned is another government group trying to reinforce the idea of a light rail/bridge that is economically advantageous to a different city in a different state. Hooray!

Then I read the story (about the move to a new City Hall). Darn. I’m going back to just reading headlines.
