Packers release TE Havner, WR Swain and T Sherman

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — The Green Bay Packers have released tight end Spencer Havner, wide receiver Brett Swain and offensive tackle Theo Sherman.

Havner played in 21 games with one start during his three seasons with Green Bay. His best season was in 2009, when he caught seven passes for 112 yards and four touchdowns. After two seasons with the Packers, Havner began last season with Detroit but returned to Green Bay after he was cut.

Swain, a seventh-round choice of the Packers in 2008, played in 22 games with one start over two seasons. He caught six passes for 72 yards last season.

Sherman signed with the Packers as an undrafted free agent on July 28.
