Vandals blamed for Willamette Valley power outage

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- Pacific Power says vandalism is to blame for a power outage that turned off the lights Sunday night for at least 7,000 customers in the Willamette Valley.
Spokesman Bob Gravely told KVAL (http://bit.ly/phX2U2 ) the utility suspects vandals hit a substation near Brownsville.
The outage also affected some Emerald PUD customers who depend on Pacific Power transmission lines.
