GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) — Authorities have evacuated the Josephine County Courthouse in Grants Pass after finding a suspicious backpack left on stairs leading to the county clerk’s office.
Josephine County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Erin Moue says the state police bomb squad has arrived to deal with it.
Moue says a side street was closed off, but traffic continues flowing on the main street in front of the courthouse.
She says the black backpack was considered suspicious because of its location.
