LONDON (AP) — United States midfielder Stuart Holden played for Bolton’s reserve team Tuesday, his first action since injuring his left knee in March.
The 26-year-old Holden played most of Bolton’s 7-0 loss to Fulham’s reserves in London.
He tweeted: “The hard work has paid off!! … Came through the 80 mins in good health! BACK in the game!”
Holden has been out since getting 26 stitches in his left knee following a challenge by Manchester United defender Jonny Evans in a Premier League match.
