EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — The Coast Guard says eight people have made it safely off a 44-foot boat that began taking on water on the Snohomish River east of Everett, Wash.

The agency tells KOMO-TV (http://bit.ly/nYtuV3 ) that it was sent to help the occupants of a vessel called The Bounty that reported trouble Wednesday night near Langus Riverfront Park.

The Coast Guard says four people got into a dinghy, which capsized, tossing them into the water. All four made it to shore.

The other four reportedly stayed on The Bounty and were eventually rescued.

KOMO says no one was seriously hurt.
