Footballers tackle weeds at food bank garden

Mountain View —Fifty four Mountain View High School football players, cheerleaders, coaches and parents got down and dirty Aug. 23 to benefit the Clark County Food Bank. They weeded 10-plus acres of carrots at Clark County’s 78th Street Heritage Farm. Every year, the farm produces many thousands of pounds of vegetables — especially carrots — for people in need. The veggies are distributed through the central Clark County Food Bank, which supplies many food pantries in the area.
