Letter: Public transit is beneficial to all
Wednesday, August 31, 2011
The citizens of Clark County need to support Proposition 1 on the Nov. 8 ballot. There is not a person in Clark County whom public transportation in Clark County does not touch, from the commuters who ride the service every day and reduce traffic on the interstates, to the disabled who ride the C-Van service to do their everyday activities. If you think about it and look at your own life, you will find someone in your life rides public transportation.
We need to keep political reasoning out of the subject and vote “yes” to help the many who ride the services. I have no children in schools but I vote “yes” on school levies to help children who are in the schools now get the best education. This is why it bothers me for people to say “Why should I pay for this when I don’t use the public transportation?” We all benefit from public transportation. It will help the whole area to not only keep the services we have now, but to have to the public transportation in Clark County grow into a really great service.
Vote “yes” on Proposition #1
