LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) — Kadeem Coleby scored 15 points and eight rebounds and Louisiana-Lafayette shot 57.1 percent from the field in a 78-56 victory over McNeese State on Thursday night.
Elfrid Payton added 12 points and Darshawn McClellan had nine points and nine rebounds for the Ragin’ Cajuns (4-5), who made 28 of 49 shots to 20 of 56 (35.7 percent) for the Cowboys (3-4).
McNeese State led 26-20 with 7:13 to go in the first half, but the Ragin’ Cajuns closed the half with a 20-7 run for a 40-33 lead. Kentwan Smith hit three baskets during that run, and Raymone Andrews beat the halftime buzzer with a 3-pointer from half-court to cap the surge.
Louisiana-Lafayette led throughout the second half, never by fewer than seven points.
Jeremie Mitchell scored 18 points to lead the Cowboys, who also got 14 points from Patrick Richard and 11 from Dontae Cannon.
