Pacers can’t deal with Rush’s controversial tweets

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Indiana Pacers can’t yet deal with controversial comments recently posted on Brandon Rush’s Twitter account.

During a disagreement, an anti-homosexual slur was posted on Rush’s account, (at)IamThaKing25. The comment and the rest of the thread have since been removed. Rush’s agent, Mark Bartelstein, says the account was hacked.

Team president Larry Bird and general manager David Morway can’t talk to Rush because the NBA lockout isn’t officially over.

Bird said the team talks to players every season about the risks involved with social media and urges them to do the right things. He added that it’s a “different world” now, and that’s why he doesn’t have a Twitter account.
