BAGHDAD (AP) — Iraqi officials say explosions have killed six people, including a father and son who were assembling a makeshift bomb that accidentally detonated inside their home.

The two were killed in the northern city of Kirkuk on Sunday. Police Col. Anwar Qadir said the man’s wife, daughter and another child were injured in the blast, which damaged their home.

In Baghdad, a roadside bomb targeted an Iraqi military convoy in the capital’s western suburb of Abu Ghraib. A police official says four soldiers were killed.

A health official confirmed the casualty figures from that attack. Both officials spoke on condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to release information.
