OSTERRUND, Sweden (AP) — Double Olympic gold medalist Magdalena Neuner won the 7.5-kilometer sprint Saturday at a biathlon World Cup meet after defeating Norway’s Tora Berger by a fraction of a second.

The 24-year-old Neuner missed only one target in the windy conditions and edged Berger in the final sprint to win in 22 minutes, 0.1 seconds.

Neuner says she’s in good shape at the start of the season but the shooting range “was very windy.”

Berger finished 0.2 seconds back after also missing one target. Finland’s Kaisa Makarainen came third.
