Vancouver man wins photo identification contest

Joe Davis of Vancouver is the winner in The Columbian’s “Where in WA?” photo identification contest for November.

Davis was the only entrant to correctly identify the waterfall on Horseshoe Creek, a tributary of Siouxon Creek in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.

He won a book entitled “On the Edge of Survival” by author Spike Walker, a Battle Ground native.

The prize for December will be another book, “Backpacking Washington” by author Craig Romano of Mount Vernon. To enter the contest, go to and follow the prompts.
