BALTIMORE (AP) — Taariq Cephas scored 24 points and Antonio Williams recorded a double-double in Coppin State’s 77-68 win over West Virginia Tech on Saturday.

Coppin State (7-2) trailed 17-13 after Ben Shannon hit a 3-pointer for West Virginia Tech. Cephas then hit back-to-back 3-pointers, sparking a 22-10 run that gave Coppin State a 35-27 lead going into halftime.

West Virginia Tech (2-4) would fight back, drawing within seven, 47-40, behind another Shannon 3-pointer. But Tony Gallo hit two straight 3-pointers and Williams knocked down two free throws to put Coppin State back on top 55-42.

Williams finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

West Virginia Tech shot 55.2 percent (16 of 29) from the field in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to overcome their poor first half shooting, where they shot only 30 percent (9 of 30).

Donald Robinson led West Virginia Tech with 17 points.
