Dedmon back for USC; missed 1 game to foot injury
Saturday, December 3, 2011
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Southern California center Dewayne Dedmon has returned to the lineup much sooner than expected after suffering a stress injury to his right foot.
The 7-foot sophomore, a junior-college transfer, missed only one game. He started for USC on Saturday at Minnesota.
The team said initially that Dedmon could miss four to six weeks. He had been in a walking boot and using crutches.
Dedmon averaged 7.7 points, six rebounds and one block over USC's first seven games. He also sustained a broken bone in his right hand during practice in October and wore a splint for the next month.
