NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — Greg Mangano scored 22 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in Yale’s 68-52 win over Vermont on Saturday.
Mangano, who averaged 16.3 points and 10 rebounds per game last season, recorded his fourth double-double of the season.
Austin Morgan and Jeremiah Kreisberg had 14 points each for the Bulldogs, who won their third straight.
Yale (5-2) took its first lead, 4-2, behind a Kreisberg layup and wouldn’t look back from there. The Bulldogs used a 20-9 run to take a 24-11 lead with 10:11 to play in the half. Yale led 38-20 at halftime.
The Bulldogs shot 48 percent (23 of 48) from the field, compared to just 35 percent (21 of 60) for Vermont.
Vermont (4-4) forced Yale to commit 16 turnovers but was outrebounded 39-29 and only made 54 percent (7 of 13) of their free throws.
Four McGlynn led Vermont with 16 points.
