Afghan police say 15 killed in Kabul blast

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) -- An Afghan police official says at least 15 people have been killed in a suicide attack on a Shiite shrine in Kabul.

The police office at the scene spoke on condition of anonymity because it was an initial report.

Hashmatullah Stanekzai, a spokesman for Kabul police, says Tuesday's blast occurred at the Abul Fazel shrine as worshippers were gathered for Ashoura, the Shiite Muslim holiday marking the death of Hussein, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad.
