MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller will miss Sunday’s game at Minnesota because of the right thumb he had recently had surgery on.

The rookie practiced Friday with a hard cast but was listed as questionable on the injury report. Miller is third in the league with 1012 sacks. He will be replaced by Mario Haggan.

Miller, the second overall pick in this year’s draft, tore ligaments in his thumb last week against the San Diego Chargers.

For the Vikings, running back Adrian Peterson is out for a second straight game because of a sprained left ankle. Cornerback Asher Allen is also out with an injury to one of his shoulders, replaced in the starting lineup by Benny Sapp.
