Delle Donne helps No. 22 Delaware women rout Yale

NEWARK, Del. (AP) — Elena Delle Donne scored 21 of her 28 points in the first half as No. 22 Delaware cruise to 77-45 victory over Yale on Monday night.

The Blue Hens (7-0) won for the second time in two days, extending the program’s best start.

Megan Vasquez scored 10 points to lead Yale (4-3).

Delle Donne, the leading scorer in Division I at 29.3 points per game, had Delaware’s first 11 points and 16 of its first 18. She finished 10 for 16 from the field and had seven rebounds.

The Bulldogs led 2-0 after Aarica West scored on a layup off the opening tipoff. The Hens scored the next 11 points to take the lead for good.

Delaware led by as many as 24 points in the first half before taking a 42-20 lead at the break. The Hen’s biggest advantage in the second half was 67-30.
