AIGLE, Switzerland (AP) — RadioShack-Nissan and GreenEdge have been approved to race on the International Cycling Union’s 2012 World Tour, completing the lineup of 18 teams.
RadioShack-Nissan’s squad grew from the merger of Lance Armstrong’s Texas-based RadioShack squad and the Leopard-Trek team from Luxembourg, led by brothers Andy and Frank Schleck.
GreenEdge is a new team from Australia.
The UCI’s World Tour features 14 stage races, including the three grand tours of France, Italy and Spain, plus 14 one-day classics.
