Wilsonville City Council avoids layoffs



WILSONVILLE, Ore. (AP) — The Wilsonville City Council approved spending cuts of more than $1 million that avoid layoffs.

The Oregonian reports (http://is.gd/W8cYkC ) the vote Monday accepts recommendations from City Manager Bryan Cosgrove.

They include turning over operations of the wastewater treatment plant to a contractor, cutting back on supplies and services, reducing overtime and leaving two vacant positions unfilled.
