BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — With defenseman Jordan Leopold set to miss his third straight game with an upper body injury, the Buffalo Sabres have recalled Joe Finley from AHL Rochester.

Finley returns to Buffalo after being sent down earlier this week. He had no points in playing his first two NHL games last week. Finley has a goal and assist and a team-leading 57 penalty minutes in 18 games with Rochester this season.

The Sabres open a five-game homestand against Philadelphia on Wednesday.

Leopold has been out since being hurt in the first period of a 2-1 loss to the New York Islanders last week. The Sabres are also expected to be without forward Paul Gaustad (upper body), who was hurt in a 3-2 win at Nashville on Saturday.
