AARP Tax-Aide, a free, volunteer-run tax assistance and preparation service, seeks client facilitators for 2012. Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds are welcome; people able to communicate in both English and Spanish are especially in demand.
Client facilitators meet the customers, provide initial screening, and answer nontax questions. They do not prepare tax returns and computer skills are not required. Volunteers are expected to work two four-hour shifts weekly for 10 weeks, beginning Feb. 1.
There will be a half day of required training on Jan. 24. The application deadline is Dec. 20.
