Johnson wins first-round TKO in MMA

Freshner wins day's other featured bout

Sean Johnson won by technical knockout in the first round of the featured bout during Saturday’s mixed martial arts show at Inferno Sports and Fitness in Vancouver.

Johnson earned the TKO win 1:19 into his match against Petr Mikkelson in a 170-pound main event fight.

In the other featured fight, Tyree Freshner beat Don Wheeler by second-round tapout at 145-pounds.

In a 170-pound battle billed as one of the featured matchups, Tommy Takamoto of host Brave Legion MMA won by second-round knockout over Trevor Close. Brave Legion’s Hamza Salim won his 205-pound featured fight over Paul Sims by third-round TKO.

Brave Legion MMA’s Scott Kaady won a split decision over Sam Selander in a 145-pound bout that was voted fight of the night. Split Decision

Attendance was estimated at 1,100, near capacity, according to event promoter Trent Standing of Split Decision Entertainment.

Knockout of the night was Jason Williams of Yacolt over Erik Wallway of Vancouver in a 185-pound undercard match. Jason Padra’s first-round win over David Lewis in an undercard heavyweight match was voted the submission of the night.
