Letter: Unions back down when it costs them

Now that the so-called Occupy protesters have moved on to other socialistic agendas, it is just beyond hypocrisy. The unions, which supported the trashing of downtown Portland and other cities during previous Occupy protests, have now been protesting the Occupy movement’s recent blocking of major ports on the Pacific Coast and elsewhere. The protest was slowing down free trade and costing American workers and companies loss of income — some of the so-called 99 percent.

Well, now the unions are proclaiming foul. Unions supported the Occupy movement until it was in their own backyard. This is more typical union maneuvering for their self-serving and false interests.
