All is not gloom and doom. I am heartened by state Rep. Tim Probst’s thoughtful and earnest efforts to listen to constituents and to draft a pragmatic manifesto for moving forward in Washington state. His proposal, “Making Washington the State of Excellence, Six Changes to Redesign Our Economy,” offers an intelligent and proactive approach to addressing our state’s dire economic situation. He has asked for feedback and dialogue and is marshalling forward a short list of priorities that all should consider. First and foremost is an emphasis on outcome-driven education. I applaud Probst’s efforts and encourage others to review and comment on his work to date.
