Police determined that a strong-arm robbery that was reported at the Westfield Vancouver mall on Wednesday did not occur.

The victim didn’t provide accurate information, Vancouver police spokeswoman Kim Kapp said. “It didn’t happen.”

Reports came in around 12:20 p.m. Wednesday that two males approached an individual, asked for money, physically assaulted the person and took the victim’s credit cards, Kapp said.

Patrol units searched the area for the suspects, but reported no arrests.

Thursday morning Kapp said police will forward the case to the City Attorney’s Office for consideration of false reporting charges.
