Firefighters on Friday morning doused a fully involved car fire on the right southbound shoulder of the Glenn Jackson Bridge.

The fire was reported around 7:20 a.m. on the south part of the bridge. An engine from the Vancouver Fire Department was called in to assist Portland firefighters, said Capt. Scott Willis, a Vancouver fire spokesman.

Firefighters arrived and found a flames coming from a small pickup truck. No injuries were reported, Willis said.

Oregon Department of Transportation traffic cameras showed the right two lanes were closed as firefighters battled the flames. The closure caused southbound traffic to back up to Mill Plain Boulevard by 8 a.m.
