Letter: Obama is failing

The Columbian
Published: December 16, 2011, 4:00pm

Sadly, we have a president who is not a leader. Americans voted for someone who pledged to unite and lead our country. Unfortunately, Barack Obama has squandered his presidency and his campaign promises.

Instead of taking a leadership role, he has governed from behind while further dividing America with his rigid ideology, double speak and class warfare. He has governed from behind in health care and the supercommittee.

Instead of taking the lead he delegated those paramount issues to Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., and Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash.

Obama’s class warfare rhetoric that the 1 percent has cheated and owes the 99 percent has become the rallying cry for the Occupy movements. It is ironic that with his right hand, Obama admonishes the rich and Wall Street while with his left hand, behind his back, he accepts their campaign contributions. His exploitation of the Occupy movements, and the chaos it produces, is what he does best.

It is truly a shame that President Obama lavishes himself with Kobe beef at his inaugural celebration while he pits American against American.
