Friends of Keith Fitzgerald fanned out across parts of Vancouver this week to try to find the man who was last seen on the night of Dec. 17.

Police on Sunday asked the public’s help to find Fitzgerald, 48, who made statements about suicide before he was last seen.

On Wednesday the group handed out fliers along Fourth Plain Boulevard between Grand Boulevard and Andresen Road. On Thursday the group planned on blanketing businesses and residents along Mill Plain Boulevard with fliers.

We’re trying to “get his face out there as much as possible,” said Trevor Petersen, a 7-year friend of Fitzgerald’s who is helping lead the search effort.

The group is also circulating Fitzgerald’s photo around Facebook, Petersen said.

Fitzgerald is white, about 5 foot 9 inches, and about 160 pounds. He has a history of mental illness. Anyone with information is asked to call the Vancouver Police Department or 911.
