An early-morning power outage affected more than 12,000 customers in the Battle Ground-Hockinson area early Friday morning.

At about 5 a.m., a 120-foot tree leaned into a transmission line, disrupting four substations and cutting power to 12,380 customers, said Erica Erland, spokeswoman for Clark Public Utilities.

Crews restored power to most of those customers within 40 minutes, Erland said.

Power was restored to the remaining customers – about 1,000 – by 8:30 a.m.

Clark PUD crews removed the tree, Erland said.
