Loyola Marymount beats Vanguard 100-74

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Drew Viney scored 29 points and Anthony Ireland contributed 14 points and 10 assists Tuesday night to lead Loyola Marymount to a 100-74 victory over Vanguard.
Taylor Walker scored 11 points and Tim Diederichs scored 10 for Loyola (7-6) in its final nonconference game before beginning West Coast Conference play Saturday at San Francisco.
Viney was 9 for 18 from the field, including 3 of 5 3-pointers, and 8 for 9 from the free-throw line. He also had eight rebounds.
Eleven players scored for LMU, which only trailed once, by a point 5 minutes into the first half. The Lions led 45-33 at halftime and broke it open after that, shooting 54 percent in the second half and 48 percent for the game.
Christino Zaragosa led Vanguard (7-4), which plays in the NAIA, with 14 points.
