Jacksonville State beats Arkansas-Pine Bluff 78-55

EL PASO, Texas (AP) — Brian Williams scored 15 points and Tarvin Gaines had 13 points and nine rebounds as Jacksonville State defeated Arkansas-Pine Bluff 78-55 in the Sun Bowl Invitational on Wednesday night.

Darion Rackley added 14 points and Stephen Hall 12 for the Gamecocks (5-8), who play Colorado State for the championship on Thursday. Arkansas-Pine Bluff (1-10) faces UTEP in the consolation game.

Savalace Townsend had 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Golden Lions. Daniel Broughton scored 14 points and Mitchell Anderson 11.

An 11-0 run over a two-minute span in the second half gave Jacksonville State a 54-33 cushion. Gaines and Hall had three-point plays during the surge.
